Being stuck at home does not mean you cannot have any fun. With so many places closed and schools not being open, a lot of families are trying to find new ways to keep the children entertained. Well, why not make a small adventure in the backyard? This may not be too appealing to older kids, but I’m sure younger kids would love it!
Depending on your backyard and what is available to you, maybe make it a mini camping weekend. Pitch a tent and spend the weekend camping in your own backyard. You can make it as simple or fancy as you want. Maybe add some solar lights or plant some new plants. It all just depends on what type of adventure you’re looking for. If you’re allowed, make little fire where you can roast hotdogs and make s’mores. If you want to get really fancy, you can go to
https://www.stemmlermeats.ca/Copacking.htm and order some meat products to cook over the fire as well. By ordering online you can avoid going to the store and out in public!
If you want to get really creative with your adventure, why not get some matching shirts from
teerextee.com?! I personally like the idea of some matching pajamas to sit around the campfire in. I mean, if you’re really into matching you could always get
custom made orthotics while you’re at it, but that may be a bit much. Although matching slippers could really top it off!
Do not just set up a campsite, though. You need to make it fun! Plan out some outdoor games. Maybe some volleyball, tennis, or football. You can actually find glow in the dark games made to specifically play in the dark! How fun does that sound?! On top of that, you can do a little star gazing if you do not have to worry about city lights getting in the way. Just pull out some chairs or sleeping bags, lay back, look up, and enjoy the night sky.
Just because you cannot leave your house to go on a family vacation does not mean you cannot have a little fun at home right in your own back yard… literally. Get your family together and start planning something fun now! I would love to hear how your adventure turned out.
