Spending your days at home? Fitness can be a great way to blow off some steam during times of stress and uncertainty. However, with public places being closed we all have to adapt to doing things a bit differently. For gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts this means navigating unchartered territory.
Unless you have a gym in your home, your fitness routine will drastically change. To many, this is maybe frustrating. We see it as an opportunity! This is your chance to revamp your old style. A new routine can help you discover things about your body. New form… Better flexibility… The power of meditation and cardio…
There is so much to be accomplished and learned from working out at home.
My Fitness Hub will make sure to give you the best workout even at home. However, you may find that some equipment is needed to perform certain exercises like abs exercises or to make your basic cardio exercises more effective. Knowledge is power, use these tips below to help you crush your at-home workouts!
Sustain Good Nutrition...
Nutrition is still a key element to fitness, even at home. Your body needs hydration along with vitamins, minerals, and protein for performance.
We also recommend
Thermogenics & CLA to set your workout on fire. This can help you match that same intensity you had while working out with your gym buddies!
Dedicate Some Space...
This is a crucial part of the process. If you can’t fully extend your body or stand firmly on the ground, you won’t be productive.
Designate a comfortable area as your "fitness space." You may have to make some adjustments and move things around.
Dress the Part!
Wear your normal athletic outfit. If you're wearing your lazy outfit, your workout will be lazy...
Dress like you're still trying to impress at the gym. Your mind will instantly get back into "work mode" and you can be motivated.
Lose the Distractions...
Block out all potential distractions from the room. This means all forms of media, people, and work that will keep you from staying motivated.
Do your Homework...
This is a learning experience. Any time you're new to something you should take notes. Watching videos and reading articles can help you to learn:
- Unique Workouts
- Better Form
- Stronger Focus
- Mind/Body Connection
- Goal Orientation
Plug In!
Fitness has gone virtual! There are now many ways to use technology to enhance your routine. If you have a smartphone or computer, here's what is available to you:
- Live Streaming Classes
- Virtual Personal Training
- Instructional Home Videos
- Fitness and Nutrition Podcasts
- Customized Apps
This includes any type of fitness you’re into. From cycling, core workouts, treadmill training to yoga and martial arts, it’s all available to you in the virtual world.
Set Goals!
Set weekly goals of what you want to accomplish. If you're new to it all, your goals don't have to involve physical progress. Start off by succeeding in learning and research!
Track your Progress...
There are many ways to track the progress of your goals. Fitness Apps and free online services can be beneficial in the process.
Want to keep it simple? Just logging detailed information in a journal will do. The key is consistency in metrics and details.
No Equipment, No Problem!
Not everyone can access equipment that was available to them at the gym. This one of the biggest adjustments you’ll have to make. There are plenty of ways to improve, strength, agility and focus without it. If possible, consult a professional or someone with proper experience to help.
Target Weaknesses...
This is your chance to focus on areas of improvement. The gym may have distracted you from them in the past…
There’s no way to hide behind the bench press! For many, this means improving on fundamentals like core workouts and flexibility. Focus on improvement and consistency always.
