While we do have a puppy in our house, it`s not a Yorkie. My mother in law and aunt in law (do they even call them that?) have Yorkies. I have to admit, I think they`re adorable dogs, but they`re not my cup of tea. They`re what I call "yappy" dogs. They bark at ANY and EVERY thing and it drives me crazy. Aside from that though they`re cute and look adorable.
Yorkie Splash was created out of a need for a shampoo to fit the specific needs of Yorkshire terriers. After trying numerous products, we here at Walnut Hill decided that there just wasn`t anything on the market that worked well for every type of Yorkie - sensitive skin, coarse hair, cottony coats, silky coats, dry coats, or oily coats. We finally decided that keeping 5 different kinds of products around was just not manageable. So, we endeavored to make our own! After a lot of research, consulting with experts, and some trial and error on scent, we came up with a "formula" that did exactly what we wanted it to - make every type of Yorkie coat look and feel amazing, and smell great, too. After using our shampoo on our own Yorkies, friends began asking how they could get their hands on some of our shampoo. So, we bottled a little. Pretty soon, word of mouth created a buzz that has continued to grow.

This helps the gel to serve as an exfoliant on the scalp, sloughing away dead skin so that it doesn’t appear later as dandruff. It is also naturally antipruritic, or capable of reliving itching, so it may help you avoid dandruff caused by irritation from frequently scratching an itchy scalp. Now that we know about the ingredients let me talk to you about a note in the label. NOTE; this shampoo is organic and watery. You may also notice a waxy feeling after the first use. This will fade as the coat dries. Let me tell you something that has to be the weirdest feeling I ever experienced in my short grooming life. Once you rinse this shampoo you won’t be able to run your fingers thru the hair. I remember when I was a kid, I love to add white glue in my hands and let it dry then peel it, well the glue was drying I try to clap and my hands bound for few seconds, that is the feeling I got when try this shampoo. This is a shampoo that I would never use without conditioner. Now once you pass that shock the hair dries very quick and it lays flat and is shiny and soft, all those attributes you always find on a show Yorkshire Terrier. Yes, if you want a show look on your yorkie, silkie Maltese or Shih Tzu, you will love this products. I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with received such small samples rather than a full sized product as I put a lot of effort into my reviews. It was only enough to try out on the Yorkie for about 3 baths and that was using the product sparingly. The conditioner is a perfect complement for the shampoo and it has no silicone in it. It has Castor seed oil, and wheat protein, phantenol vitamin B5 to help that coat look fantastic. The detangling finishing spray did not do much as a detangling, but as a finishing spray was fantastic. The hair brushed so nice and took care of the static making the trim just a breeze. When I visit the Yorkie I used it on after two weeks, there where practically no tangles on her, while usually she is a mess. This combination of products worked really good.
