Updating My Space wit Photowall Foggy Forest Wallpaper Review closetsamples

One of the things we have been doing in our spare time is updating our spaces. Mostly small, affordable projects, but updates nonetheless. We're working on getting rid of clutter and making our house homier. I feel like this is an ongoing thing as a homeowner, but the "clean up and update" bug is in our skin again. This time, we're working on the entrance hall of the master bedroom. While I still want to update the flooring and get rid of this dreaded carpet, that's another project for a different day.

This time, we decluttered the hall space and updated our walls using the Photowall Foggy Forest Wallpaper. The Foggy Forest is easy to assemble and hang. This detailed, stunning picture of a mysterious, dense forest will be perfect for the living room in your home. I feel as though the Foggy Forest design can change the appearance of a corporate, residential, or recreational room instantly. Plus, my guilty pleasure is reading and watching the Twilight Saga. Yes, call me a nerd. I love it. This foggy forest really set that tone for me and I felt it would look great in my hall space - and I was right!

I measured my wall space and put in my wall measurements on the website, adding a little extra in length and width to give us room to work with just in case. It worked out perfectly with a little extra to spare! Once I placed my order, it shipped out within a couple of days and arrived to my home in about a week. It was rather quick, which surprised me! I expected it to take a lot longer. So that was already a wonderful start to my experience with Photowall.

As you can see in my before photos, the hall was just clutter. It started off great originally, but over the years, things just get put to the side and left unorganized. When I decided that I loved this wallpaper, I figured it was the perfect time to get rid of the clutter - go through stuff and either give it a place, or get rid of it! And as much as I love my photos, it was just cluttering up the walls. If they were to be placed back up, it would take away the beauty of this particular wallpaper. So only one photo was placed back up, the rest we have yet to decide on a different placement or to just remove the frames and put them in an album. We'll figure it out.

As soon as we had a free day on a weekend, we got to work as this project took a couple of hours.

We started on the "more complicated" side of the wall, which was the closet door and the main light switches. Now, neither of us have ever hung wallpaper before so we weren't sure how this was going to turn out. Thankfully, there is a very easy-to-follow video tutorial on what to do. You need to clean the wall, get your glue mixed, and cut the wallpaper. The wallpaper arrives in rolls with clearly defined areas to cut. So the length will be the length you put in at the time of order, and the width is premeasured by Photowall and you put up each panel at a time.

Now, I must admit, at first I honestly thought there is no way this is going to look good and that I would see the lines between the panels. However, much to my surprise that is not the case. Yes, we have a couple of noticeable spots, but we did this ourselves without any extra help and, again, it was our first time ever doing wallpaper.

Once everything was mixed, my husband got to work. I was the helper, he did the main work. He added the glue mixture to the wall after cleaning it, and then carefully hung each panel. I found the method similar to applying those sticker vinyl designs to walls and such, but a bit more work due to working with the glue. You use a spreader/scraper-type tool to smooth it out and basically just repeat this process until your job is complete. In between, you use a damp sponge to wipe off any excess glue from the wallpaper. That's it. It's a process, and while it isn't 100% perfect, it was rather easy. Mostly just time-consuming.

I feel it is important to note that you do not get everything you need in the box. It comes with your wallpaper and the glue mix. That's it. Everything else we had to go and purchase. We spent about $40 at our local hardware store for the items we needed, such as for the bucket, scraper, sponge, etc. Basic tools that some may even have on hand.

When all is said and done, we love how the space turned out! I still have further tasks I would like to do for that space, but that's for another day. I am pleased with how this ultimately turned out. The wallpaper is thick and of nice quality. There are no pixels in the image - it is perfectly clear. The wallpaper did not get soggy or fall off the wall during the hanging process or after. It is holding up well and looks AMAZING. Seriously, my pictures look terrible compared to the in-person view and feel the area now gives. I was hoping it would come out good, but I never imagined it would turn out this good!

If you're looking to update your space, I definitely recommend picking out some nice wallpaper from Photowall. You won't regret it! There is a ton of options to choose from at reasonable prices. And I mean a TON to choose from. There's definitely a design for everyone!
