I am one who does not usually fall asleep easily. My husband, on the other hand, can fall asleep at any time, any place - no problem. Lucky him! The extra weight took me by surprise for a brief moment, but nothing super heavy. The weight does, however, make it a slight bit challenging to spread the blanket across the bed or couch, but again, not a big deal.

 

I've been trying out my new weighted blanket from Sweet Zzz for a few nights now and I have to say, I am in love! First of all, there are actually washing instructions for this blanket - something the previous one I had did not offer. Now, it needs to be hand washed and hung to dry, however, the option is there and it can be done - which is necessary for a home full of pets and kids.

I love that this blanket is actually safe for both kids as well as adults. Other brands I have seen, or even tried, often separate their blankets to being for kids or only adults, but generally do not combine being safe for both for the same blanket. 

 

 

So through my experience, I wasn't holding up too much hope because of my past experience with a weighted blanket, as I said at the beginning of the post. However, I was pleasantly surprised after just the first night using the blanket. For the first time in a while, I did not wake up throughout the night. In fact, I didn't wake up once out of my sleep for no reason. I just slept like a normal person - FINALLY! No, I did not take any sort of sleep aid either! I love how soft and comfortable the blanket is and how even though it is weighted, it's not suffocating, as other blankets I have tried were. The deep touch pressure offered by the weighted blanket actually gave me the sensation of being hugged as the company described. Yes, they were actually on point with that!
