With the dawn of a New Year comes the desire to make a fresh start. Most of us our setting our goals and resolutions, and one of the most common New Year’s Resolutions is to get healthy; I know it`s one of my own personal goals.
Many people find that gluten free living helps them feel and even look better. Do you ever wonder if gluten free living might help you feel better and have more energy? Have you been wanting to try a gluten free lifestyle
? This is a GREAT time to give it a try!
Don’t have Celiac Disease?
It doesn’t matter! Many people are finding that they feel better on a gluten free diet, and not just the people who have Celiac Disease or a Gluten Sensitivity. People have reported increased energy levels, as well as a better ability to focus. That tired slump after eating lunch? For many that “over-full†bloated feeling disappears after going gluten free. Gluten tends to be hard for your body to digest, which causes that feeling of tiredness. So when you avoid gluten, that excess energy can be diverted elsewhere, rather than your digestive system. The biggest reason to go gluten free, is that there’s simply is no downside to giving it a shot (provided proper nutrition is maintained). Who knows, you might feel better than you ever imagined possible!
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in a review of a few of UDI`s Gluten Free products
. They sent me:
(1) Bucket of Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
(1) Bucket of Soft & Chewy Dark Chocolate Brownie Bites
(1) Bag of Dairy & Soy Free Whole Grain Hamburger Buns
(1) Bag of Dairy & Soy Free Mighty Bagels
(1) Bag of Dairy & Soy Free Soft & Delicious White Sandwich Bread
(1) Bag of Ancient Grain Soft & Nutritious Millet-Chia Bread
(1) Pack of Dairy, Soy & Nut Free Harvest Crunch Muffins
Wow, that was a handful to type up and quite generous of them to send! These ALL tasted great in their own way. Yes, they do taste different than what you`re probably used to eating/buying, but it is very good! The first thing to disappear within a few hours between my husband, Sophia and myself would be the chocolate chip cookies. Again, these did taste different than your typical cookies, but they still tasted good - it`s hard to really explain and put into words. I can say though that I do notice after eating a few (2-3 cookies) I`ve had enough for a decent time period and I don`t start feeling tired from a sugar crash. A lot of the times when I eat junk food I`ll get a bit of a sugar rush then not too long after I`m lagging. Either I`m just having a good day or it`s the fact they aren`t having unwanted effects on me.
The same goes with the brownies! In fact, I claimed the bucket of cookies and my husband claimed the bucket of brownies. I had to tell him I had to at least be allowed one for reviewing purposes! Thank you UDI for allowing me that excuse otherwise he wouldn`t have shared! Who`s name is on the package? Anyway, I`m getting side tracked here on this. Seriously though, my husband is a picky eater. I`m the one who likes to try the "weird" foods while he`s happy with a plain burger. So for him to honestly enjoy it says a lot. Sophia of course is more like me and willing to try anything - she loved the cookies!
As far as the Harvest Crunch Muffins go, I`m glad no one else likes mixed up stuff (except Sophia copying mommy of course) - they were great! These muffins consist of cranberries, sweet potato, quinoa flour & pepitas. An odd mix, but it tastes oh so good! I would have never known it was dairy, soy & nut free from the taste. Not to mention it gives you 25% daily value of vitamin A you should intake on a daily basis. As in a perfect breakfast food!
UDi`s provided wonderful customer service and was very friendly. They shipped my products out quickly and packaged them well to ensure a safe delivery. Their products were high quality, fresh, and tasted great. I would definitely make future purchases from them and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative healthy diet without too much compromise. Not feeling tired randomly is always a nice thing and sugars and the wrong foods tend to do that to you. Like anything you can eat what you want, just do so in moderation. UDI simply makes having to monitor your food a little less stressful. Try them out.
The various breads all were great too. Of course they weren`t quite as exciting as the snacks, but their taste was of equal quality. To me they tasted like any other bread except for the slight hint of being different, but I try so many breads depending what`s on sale it wasn`t that noticeable to me with them.
