little passports sample received As you all know Sophia is being homeschooled this year for her kindergarten year. To make things fun I like giving her a lot of hands on activities and crafts so she can have fun while learning. I find it`s the best way to learn, when you don`t even realize it. Well of course she`s not quite into social studies and such, but she can learn what a map is and a camera, how to spell them, etc. Basically introduce her in her own age-appropriate level. Well thanks to Little Passports we`re able to do just that! Sophia can enjoy learning about things either around the world or specifically in the USA. Not only was I sent a package to check out, but one awesome reader has a chance to win a 3-month subscription where you get a new package each month! Little Passports

About Little Passports

We are a San Francisco-based company founded by two moms wanting to design an inspiring and fun way for kids to learn about other countries and the 50 states. We each have young children and hope they`ll take an active interest in the world at a young age. We plan on encouraging them to do so by providing them with opportunities and experiences that inspire the imagination. As we thought about how to do this, we remembered the anticipation and excitement we felt when we received mail as kids. We decided to incorporate this element of surprise and joy with the online games kids love today. We blended these two concepts and developed the idea of monthly travel packages, including letters, souvenirs, activities and online games. Little Passports

My Thoughts

When our package for August arrived in the mail I was super excited as was Sophia. We received a colorful plastic portfolio which came with a camera, scratch book, map and a field guide. It also included a little note which basically let us know what`s going on with the package; like an introduction. I found that while this is a bit more advance for a 5 year old as far as learning all the material, it can still be used and is very much fun. Sophia love cameras so the disposable camera was definitely appropriate and a piece we intend to save for our next family vacation so she can use it on her own to feel like a "big girl" and have her very own camera. The scratch book was by far her favorite though because you use the wooden stick and scratch the black paper designs and watch the colors emerge. She was absolutely fascinated! The field guide is something we can use as we slowly learn sight words or things of that nature through the year until she`s older and can read and better understand the stuff herself. It comes with great products that are both fun and educational and appropriate for young aged children. Like I said, I know it`s a bit more advanced for her at this time, but it`s definitely a great tool and still has parts that are appropriate for her. It should also be noted that I received the USA pack which is appropriate for age 7-12 where as the word pack is appropriate for ages 5-10. I`m excited to add it in to our curriculum and learning activities this year and highly recommend checking them out; even if you don`t homeschool. Little Passports
