Many of you know from previous posts how I tend to have aches and pains in my neck, back and shoulder due to a car accident when I was 16. For those who don`t know, the other vehicle slammed into my mom and I from behind when we were at a red light. Ever since I get pains on a regular basis that really nothing can be done about. Some days I can enjoy a normal day and others I have to relax in a tub of HOT water until I`m ready to pass out just to get some sort of relief. Thankfully they have places such as the Epsom Salt Council who have Epsom Salt products , such as the ones they sent me for review, to try out. Oh yes, one lucky reader has a chance to win some as well!
About Epsom Salt
Eager to let everyone know the benefits of our product, the Epsom Salt Council was formed in 1993 to help spread the word about the wonder that is Epsom salt. You see, we`re wild about this pure, time-tested mineral compound and its dozens of uses. And after exploring all the ways it can help improve your health and daily living, we think you`ll agree. The benefits of Epsom salt aren`t just folklore. In fact, numerous studies have demonstrated the profound and wide-ranging benefits of magnesium and sulfate, the two major components of Epsom salt. Doctors, celebrities, personal trainers, gardening experts and supermodels have all extolled its virtues.
The Science of Epsom Salt
Most people know about the importance of calcium and vitamin D, but many Americans are also magnesium deficient. Doctors say it stems largely from the increasing prevalence of processed foods in our diets. Today, 68 percent of U.S. adults consume less than the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of magnesium, according to the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, and 19 percent consume less than half of the RDA. Epsom salt is made up of magnesium and sulfate, which can help improve health in numerous ways. A lack of magnesium—which helps regulate the activity of more than 300 enzymes in the body—can contribute to high blood pressure, hyperactivity, heart problems and other health issues, doctors warn. Sulfate is essential for many biological processes, helping to flush toxins and helping form proteins in joints, brain tissue and mucin proteins. Doctors and researchers say that soaking in an Epsom salt bath is a safe, easy way to increase the body`s levels of both magnesium and sulfate.
While I never know if it was just by pure coincidence or if the stuff really works, I found that after following the directions and soaking in the tub for about 12 minutes I felt some sort of relief - maybe even more than I realize. I say that because for the longest I would go to bed sleeping on a heat pad and after a week or so I stopped because I still felt aches and figured it was doing nothing. As soon as I stopped I felt a noticeable difference. Basically I find it`s the same concept in my case. It doesn`t eliminate the pain 100%, but it does help relieve it and make it more bearable to deal with. Did you know Epsom Salt can be used in Beauty, Gardening, Health and Crafts? Needless to say I had an educational and positive experience with the Epsom Salt Council. They provided me an awesome product to review that I found to be high quality and works well. One thing that stood out to me about this product among other epsom salt products is the packaging of the carton. I loved how it had the uses and mixes for the uses on the packaging itself. It sure made it easier for my relaxing bath! Of course I recommend the Epsom Salt Council and their products. I don`t think you will be disappointed because I sure wasn`t!
