What I think

This is part 1 of a 3 part post. We agreed, with Chewy, to try out the Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Natural Open Range Recipe with Beef, Venison & Lamb Dry Dog Food for Scooby for 1 month to see how it goes for her and our family. First of all this bag is HUGE (23 pounds to be exact). Scooby is roughly around 25-30 pounds, give or take, and we notice she doesn’t eat a lot of dry dog food and is very picky about her wet food as well. Mostly, this is because of my children. They are ages 8 and 2 and will leave food on the table, drop stuff on the floor, etc. So Scooby has become accustomed to “table food” despite our efforts of not purposely giving it to her. So for her wet canned food, she doesn’t want the pate stuff, she likes the one that looks like a roasted stew that has some vegetables in it.

For the dry dog food, we’ve tried different brands. She generally will sniff it when I put it out, and walk away. She will eventually eat it... one she gets desperate. So I honestly did not have high hopes for this brand either but figured it couldn’t hurt to try. She’s so darn picky and as a pet parent, it's frustrating! So I poured a small little bowl, that we had gotten from a pet fair, with the food just to give it a chance. She went over, sniffed it, and immediately gave it a try. She then actually tasted it and took quite a few bites. No, she did not gobble it down, but she took a few bites. That’s more than I can say about many of the other brands she’s tried. We’ve only just started giving this brand to her and she’s been choosing to eat this one over her other brand, so so far it seems to be a “hit” or as much of a hit when it comes to dog branded food in our house. I’ll post an update as we continue our journey of trying out the Rachael Ray brand food.

By the way, if you choose to try this brand food off Chewy.com, be sure to get the subscribe and save option where you can save some money! You can cancel the subscription any time or extend or shorten the delivery dates as often as you need! No hassle at all and their customer service is so friendly! Get on just to chat with them about your pet and they talk to you and make you feel like they truly care about them as well. With the lack of customer service these days this is certainly a heart-felt type thing.
