The Kids` Candor idea was born through our own search for developmental materials for our own pre-school children. Being native Spanish speakers, my husband and I set out to raise our children bilingual and certainly could use the tools and the time to do so. We not only encountered an enormous challenge in finding the right materials in the marketplace but found ourselves devoting precious time (we could have spent with our children) to searching and researching on best practices, approaches and activities to stimulate our children’s development in their early years. We also discovered that lots of other parents, even those who are not bilingual, eagerly searched for the same solution, with little success. Meanwhile, we learned how important human interaction is for the children’s brain and social development in the early years of life, in contrast to the proliferation of on-line tools and one-way digital content for children. In November 2014 I left my job as a Director of Brand Development in a major US communications company to focus my efforts on this venture. My husband Jorge and I, the cofounders of Kids’ Candor, are fully committed to what we believe will improve the quality of life of many households while shaping young children into successful contributors of our new and diverse society. We believe in respecting children and their intelligence, human interaction and a global and diverse frame of mind.

As your child participates in the Kids Candor program they will be exposed to skills which support their development in key areas. These skills, when combined with a nurturing environment, intention to teach, active interaction and meaningful relationship will provide the best you can give your child for a bright and successful future. I was lucky to be sent a box to check out for myself and I`m pretty impressed with it. As many of you know, I homeschool my almost 8 year old daughter, Sophia, and plan to do the same thing with my son Jace. He just turned two so we`re working on introducing the basics to him. Well this kit is great for both of them as something fun. My box was one of expressing feelings. It came with art supplies, stickers, music disc and cards to guide you with your activities. What`s unique about this particular kit is that it is the first bilingual program that provides tools and guidance to educate children from birth to preschool through quality human interactions with their parents or caregivers. As far as our experience goes, my kids had a blast! My son is too young to really understand it, but he loves stickers so he was able to join in and have his own sort of fun while my daughter enjoyed participating in a few of the activities. They both enjoyed the Kelly Bear Feelings book as well as the music disc. My daughters favorite activity though, so far, was making stick people to express feelings and making up little stories about "Mr. Grumpy" and "Miss Happy." Basically it was a fun experience that was also educational. If you have children, whether you homeschool or not, I certainly recommend this subscription box if you can fit it into your budget!
