Casio CGP-700 Digital Piano Update Post #Review

Just last week I introduced you guys to the Casio CGP-700 Digital Piano. If you missed it, here is my original post again.

Well, it`s been a few days and I am still just as excited about this piano as the first day it arrived. So what`s been going on with it? Well, since I had to move the cat tree in our bedroom over to make room for it, the piano has become quite the attraction to the cats. If I`m not playing around on it the cats are sleeping on it - yikes! Seriously, the keys must make one heck of a bed because they love stretching out on it and are enjoying the piano bench I am using as a bed as well. Also, because of the cats, I keep the piano unplugged from the wall when not in use. Why might you ask? Oh, because the cats would step right on the power button and turn it on.

You have to hold the button down a few seconds to turn it on/off and well, they definitely enjoy doing it. So when not in use it gets unplugged. I tried keeping it turned down, but they some how would adjust that too! Yea, you get it, not only do I like it, but apparently it`s been a hit with my pets as well. You can see in the photo, Mouse, giving me a look letting me know she has made claims to it.

So aside from having to share my gorgeous new piano with the fur babies, the piano has been working flawlessly. I have had no issues with anything.

Originally when playing midi files, it would take a bit to load. I learned that it only takes a bit if its a new long. If it`s one you previously loaded, it`s up and ready to use rather quickly. You can also basically make your own remixes of the songs with the beat stuff they have and record it to save it to use later. Of course, anybody fooling with this professionally, be careful you are not infringing on any copyright laws.

One thing else I have learned is the piano is pretty easy to wipe clean. With the cats walking all over it I have to wipe the piano daily. Do not use water as this could damage it. However, I do recommend using a microfiber cloth to wipe each key individually. At least, it`s working well for me. I`m sure there are other more professional techniques out there (which you can share below if you would like), but that`s what I`ve been doing. In all reality I just need to get a cover for it to really protect it, but in the mean time I just wipe it down daily. Needless to say, this piano is still a hit and still has not given me any reason to complain! Need a nice piano? Give this one a chance. I`ve seen tons of great positive reviews on it besides my own.
