I want to start off by saying that this is NOT a sponsored review. I purchased these items out of pocket and received no payment or anything for free. With that being said, I wanted to share my favorite company to order my dental products from!
I have been ordering from Boka
since 2019 and am continuing to use their products today. Obviously, I am pretty satisfied with them.
Who is Boka?
We’ve been using the same oral care products without asking for the same accountability we ask for in our foods and skincare products. And while some natural brands tell us what not to use, they don’t offer ingredients backed by science to heal our mouths. We’re setting out to change that because the mouth is too critical to whole body health to ignore. We all now understand that sleep, diet and exercise are essential to wellness. Yet the mouth is the number one source of disease in the body and a huge source of chronic inflammation in many people. Those inflammation and bacteria cells not only wreak havoc on your immune system, but have also been linked to systemic diseases, like Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, and Alzheimer’s.We believe in making more effective products with safer ingredients to have a positive impact on preventive health.
I am going to share about two different products from them that I personally swear by.
First, you need to grab the Boka Kit
. This kit comes with all the essentials to give this brand a try to see if they are a good fit for you. Of course, I don't see why they wouldn't be. In this kit you get:
1) Boka Brush
The Boka Brush 2.0 is the first-ever electric toothbrush to feature activated charcoal bristles. Not only do they help limit bacteria growth, but they provide a much gentler brushing experience. Why go gentle? Softer bristles help you avoid brushing too hard, which can lead to recessed gums and temperature sensitivity. With 30,000 vibrations per minute, the Boka Brush 2.0 feels like a massage for your mouth. We topped it off with stainless-steel accents and a magnetic charging base.
2) Ela Mint
Ela Mint is unlike any other toothpaste, by design. It trades fluoride for nano-hydroxyapatite (n-Ha), an evolution in dentistry that’s been a gold standard in Japan for over 40-years. n-Ha makes up the primary foundation of teeth and bones, meaning it’s naturally restorative and helpful in reducing sensitivity. Plus, it’s 100% biocompatible and non-toxic. They complement this powerful ingredient with soothing aloe vera, bacteria-fighting xylitol, antioxidant-rich green tea, and refreshing mint. It’s their way to address the “silent epidemic” in healthcare.
Your mouth thanks you for your flossing habit. Your dental bills do as well. Keep your good habit going strong with this natural floss. Made with vegetable wax, it’s Teflon-free, petroleum-free, and provides a thorough, satisfying clean.
4) Replacement Heads
Have your bristles seen better days? Pitch ’em—along with the ~10m bacteria they harbor. This 2-pack of replacement heads will keep your Boka Brush 2.0 clean and ready for action.
This was the first thing I had bought from Boka back in 2019 to give them a try and I fell in love! The toothbrush still works without any issues to this day - roughly 4 years later. So no battery issues and it's holding strong! I just make sure to clean and wipe around where the replacement head goes due to buildup over time. So for hygiene purposes, I keep that clean in between changing brush heads.
The toothbrush has 3 different modes, which are different vibration strengths. For me, I find the first mode works perfectly for my needs as that is the gentlest mode. Just press the button on the toothbrush and the intensity will increase.
Another feature that I like about the toothbrush is how it will vibrate for as long as you are supposed to brush one quadrant of your mouth, does a brief pause so you know to move to the next quadrant, then continues on until you are done. Of course, you can just press the button to turn off the toothbrush if you prefer.
Changing the brush head is simple - just pull it off and press the new one into place. That's it.
Additionally, I really like the floss. It's a bit thicker than other store brands I have used, yet is still gentle on my gums. It seems to do a better job than other flosses I have used. But that is just a personal preference.
Finally, the toothpaste... the toothpaste is amazing! Which leads me to product number two (which I discovered from the beginning because of the starter kit): Boka Nano (N-Ha) Toothpaste 2 Pack
As I said, I originally fell in love with the toothpaste in the starter kit, but over the years they have added new flavors. So I recently updated my toothpaste stash. I bought the usual Ela Mint, but I tried one of the newer flavors, Lemon Lavender. Wow! Was it an amazing flavor as well!
The newest flavor, Lemon Lavender, is a nod to the stunning landscapes of the Amalfi Coast. The pleasant, sweet taste of the lemons paired with floral hints of lavender create a flavor, unlike any paste before it. Like their signature Ela Mint paste, this is an extension of the first natural paste powered by modern science. It trades fluoride for nano-hydroxyapatite (n-Ha), an evolution in dentistry that’s been a gold standard in Japan for over 40 years. n-Ha makes up the primary foundation of teeth and bones, meaning it’s naturally restorative and helpful in reducing sensitivity. Plus, it’s 100% biocompatible and non-toxic.
These two are my absolute favorite toothpaste I have used thus far! Amazing flavor and my teeth always come out feeling clean and my mouth is always feeling fresh. Combine these toothpaste with the other Boka products I've mentioned and it's almost like having a nice cleaning from the dentist at home. Maybe not quite that good, but close enough!
Needless to say, I think it is pretty obvious that I highly recommend giving Boka a try if you haven't already! And let me know what you think about them in a comment below.
