One garden hose might look as good as the next on the store shelf, but unseen differences can have a substantial impact on how long the hose lasts and how frustrating it is to use. To buy the right hose, Measure the maximum hose length you'll need. Hoses are sold in 25-, 50-, 75- and 100-foot lengths. Don't buy a longer one than necessary. Not only will it cost more, but it will also be heavier to haul around and more difficult to drain before storing, and it will provide lower water pressure. A hose width of a five-eighths inch (based on the inside diameter) usually is best. A half-inch hose is acceptable only when the hose is no longer than 50 feet and the rate of water flow is not a major concern, such as when you water delicate plants at close range.
Since seeing the Pocket Hose Ultra
on TV my husband has been insisting that we needed one. So, of course, we ended up getting one and off the bat it`s so much lighter than the typical garden hose. It`s also flexible and easy to store. When it uses the 50-foot hose expands to full capacity and does not tangle up in the process of enlarging. Please pay attention to the packaging info because it does state to NOT use it with a turn off valve IF connected to a spray nozzle. Also, keep them out of the sun and store indoors or in a deck box or some protected area to protect them better so it will last longer.
For me, I found the hose works great, but being super careful with a hose honestly is a pain in the butt to be quite frank. I want to use the hose then leave it hooked up - not have to hook it up and take it down every time because of the fear of it getting damaged. Also, these do seem as though they could get damaged easily, but I have not had an issue as of yet so we`ll see. While ultimately I don`t think this hose will last, although I hope I am wrong, I love the fact of it being easily to pick up. I hate the careful storage and care, but I love how it works when it`s hooked up and in use. It`s a love/hate sort of relationship. If these could be made more durable then I think it`d totally win me over.
