Whenever a *NEW* representative joins Avon, he/she will receive a starter kit at a great value. This is one of the amazing benefits representatives get to enjoy as they start their very own business.

At the end of 2017, Avon updated their starter kits with *NEW* full-size products, samples & business tools in order to better help *NEW* representatives as they start their Avon business. In this article, you will not only learn about what is in each of the starter kits you, as a *NEW* representative, can choose from, but also tips on how you can use your starter kit to create a solid foundation for your Avon business.

When you join Avon, you will have a choice of 3 starter kits- Quick, Advanced or Premium. Each kit contains full-size products, samples, brochures, business tools & more. You will receive everything you will need to help you start your business.

HOW TO GET YOUR AVON STARTER KIT

You will have a choice to purchase any of the 3 Starter Kits when you join Avon to become an Avon representative. If you are unsure which Starter Kit to choose, you will have the option to take a short quiz. Based on your answers, a kit will be recommended to you. You can pick the recommended kit or whichever one you feel best fits not only your business goals, but also one you can financially afford at that time.

Your kit will be shipped to you the next business day & you should receive it within 3-5 business days through UPS. As a *NEW* representative, your mentor (aka Upline), will contact you by the end of the next business day to welcome you to Avon, answer any questions you may have & schedule a time for to get together to go over your Starter Kit once it has arrived.

TIP: Once you register your account at youravon.com, you can set up your FREE e-Store & use the Email Service Center on your account to let everyone you know that you are now open for business. Customers can begin to shop at your e-Store right away & let you know if they want a brochure!

 

Getting Started Booklet

In your kit, you will receive a Getting Started Booklet. In there you will find a information, tips, ideas & steps for you to take as you start your very own Avon business. You can go through this booklet yourself or with your mentor.

 

Using Your Starter Kit

No matter what kit you decide to start with, you can create a solid foundation for a successful business. Personally, I have worked with representatives who have created successful business starting off with each one of these kits. Your success is based on YOUR determination, YOUR hard work & how YOU decide to use your available tools, help & materials.

 

USING YOUR STARTER KIT TIP #1: FULL-SIZE PRODUCTS

As a *NEW* representative, the main focus of your business will most likely be about selling Avon products. Though it is not required, having full-size products available on hand can be a great tool to help you grow your sales. Here are three ways you can use your full-size products in your starter kit:

  • Use Some or All of the Products Yourself: If you have never used Avon products before or are not very familiar with them, using the products yourself is one way to do so at a discounted price. When customers ask you will be able to let them know what you thought about the product & why. You can also share on your social media with things like how to videos, a product review post or a simple picture of you rocking it.
  • Sell Some or All of Your Full-Size Products: If you are looking for a way to earn money right on the spot, selling the full-size products you receive in your kit is the way to go. You can put the products in a small basket & bring it everywhere with you, display it in your workplace’s lunchroom (as long as it isn’t against the official rules) or bundle a couple of the products together to create a gift basket you can sell.
  • Raffle Off a Full-Size Product or Product Bundle: If you are looking for a way to grow your contact list is through a raffle. For each person who gives you their contact info, requests a brochure, completes a simple contact form which will ask for their name, address & contact infoOnce the designated time is up, you will raffle off a name & have a whole bunch of *NEW* names to add to your contact list. Being a shy person, I love having something to offer. It’s a great icebreaker & let’s face it- people love F-R-E-E!

 

TIP: Each time you receive anyone’s contact information (even if it is not ALL of it), make sure to add it to your Address Book on youravon.com. Each customer who registers online & their contact info matches what you have in your Address Book, he/she will automatically be linked to you. Your Address Book is found in your Web Office tab on youravon.com

 

USING YOUR STARTER KIT TIP #2: USING SAMPLES

Samples are an amazing & inexpensive business tool that can help you grow your personal sales. I personally am loving the *NEW* regimen samples because they offer customer’s a way to try out the whole set at once. My customer’s absolutely love them! Here are some ideas on what you can do with the samples you receive in your starter kit:

  • Hand Out: Let people know what samples you have available right away so if there is something they would like to try, you can give it to them to try & fall in love with it by the time your first order is due. You can also place a sample in each brochure you hand out. This will provide an additional sample for a customer to check out, and it may be their next favorite Avon product they wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.
  • Create Samplers: This is a great idea if you are looking for an icebreaker. You are able to open the conversation by offering them a free sampler & if they accept, it opens the door for you to ask for their contact information so you can follow up with them. All you have to do is place 2-3 samples in a little treat bag with a simple flyer that has all of your contact information & online store link. As I said, everyone loves F-R-E-E, even if it is just a sample.
  • Use the Samples Yourself: Just like I explained above with you personally using the full-size products, trying out Avon products personally is the best way for you to learn more about them. What better way to try an Avon product is with a sample! Think about it, when you find a beauty product that you absolutely love, you get excited & want to share it with the whole world. That excitement is what will bring even more customers to you & they are more likely to purchase the item because they see how much you love it.

 

TIP: Find creative ways to share samples in your Avon business. Do a Google search, browse Pinterest, or even network with other representatives & direct sellers for new ideas & ways you can use samples in your Avon business.

 

USING YOUR STARTER KIT TIP #3: USING BROCHURES

The Avon brochure is by far the most important tool you will have at your disposal for your business. Think of this as your store where your customers will go to shop. Each starter kit comes with 3 campaigns worth of brochures. Once you receive your kit, the first thing you need to do is label them like you see in the image to the right.

 

TIP: When you place your first order, make sure you have enough brochures to hand out to all of your customers & to new customers. If you need more then what you receive in your kit, you can always order more.

 

REMEMBER: You will receive a FREE pack of 10 brochures when you place a $50+ order in LOA Campaigns 1-5 (first 5 campaigns) at www.youravon.com.

 

Here are some ideas on what to do with the brochures that you receive in your Starter Kit:

  • Pass Them Out to Those You Know: Hand them out to your “warm market”- people you know personally. These are your friends, your family, neighbors- anyone you have contact with on a regular basis.
  • Ask Family & Friends for Referrals: This is a great way to start growing your customer base as you start off. Most family & friends will want to help you as you start your Avon business, even if they personally are not interested in purchasing Avon, they most likely know at least 1 person who would. I personally did a Refer-a-Friend promotional offer in my 2nd campaign & 3rd campaign by offering a 10% off discount a future order for each referral who placed an order. I am so happy I did do this because it helped me gain a solid customer base, gain 2 Avon Helpers & be able to meet the *NEW* representative incentive at the time.
  • Have 2-3 Brochures with You: You never know when you may come across a *NEW* customer so it is very important to always have at least 2-3 brochures on you or easily accessible. In your Getting Started Booklet, one method to grow your Avon business is by using the Power of 5. The Power of 5 is an activity where you speak to 5 *NEW* people about your business 5 times a week.

 

TIP: Make sure to get each person’s contact information you personally hand a brochure to, whether is by phone, email or even Facebook Messenger, so you can follow up with them 2-3 days before your next order goes in.

 

USING YOUR STARTER KIT TIP #4: USING Avon What’s New

One benefit Avon representatives are able to enjoy is Avon’s campaign preview booklet called Avon What’s New. This provides an opportunity for representatives to be able to preview up to 2 campaigns ahead & enjoy demo prices on *NEW* products. You will also find tips on how to grow your business, sample & product bundles, discounted prices on popular Avon products and more.  Here are some ways you can take advantage of the Avon What’s New:

  • Purchase Sample Bundles: In each Avon What’s New you will find a sample bundle you can purchase at a discounted price. This is a great way to stock up on a variety of samples.
  • Take Advantage of *NEW* Product Samples: Each campaign Avon releases new products. Some *NEW* products, such as makeup or skincare, samples will be available to purchase through a special offer (ex. Buy 2 get 1 Free). Having samples of *NEW* products is a great way to introduce customers to them- just tape them on the page the product is found in the brochure. I normally don’t recommend to my *NEW* representatives to purchase a lot of full size products, however, if it is something you would personally use, want to try or have an idea on how to incorporate it in your business, then ordering it in the Avon What’s New is the way to go.
  • Enjoy *NEW* Products at Demo Prices: As a representative, you are able to purchase *NEW* products at a demo price. One way to advertise your *NEW* business is by using the products yourself, including wearing Avon fashion & jewelry. For example, if you are wearing a *NEW* necklace & someone compliments you. This just opened a door for you to introduce them to the product & introduce him/her to your business. This is also a great way for you to try the *NEW* products before they are released.

  • Stock Up on Popular Avon Products: Each campaign, a variety of products will be available for you to purchase at a discounted rate or through a bundle deal. You will quickly learn what products your customers order on a regular basis. Having popular products like hand creams, shower gels & mascaras available on hand can help you with on the spot sales & better provide for your customers. As I’ve said before, it is not required to have products on hand, but if you are creating gift baskets, do vendor events or have a plan on how to use these products in your business, ordering through the What’s New is the way to go. You can also use these special prices & deals to order your favorite Avon products.

 

NOTE: This is where many *NEW* representatives end up spending if not all, more then their profit. Yes it is important to invest back into your business, however, I highly recommend doing so at a SLOW PACE. I recommend setting a budget or percentage of your profit that you will invest in each campaign.

 

USING YOUR STARTER KIT TIP #5: DAILY CARE FLYER

  • Post a Copy on Bulletin Boards at your local grocery store, church & organizations. You can even ask your local corner store owner if they will post this flyer in their window.
  • Use as an Ice Breaker when you are talking to someone new about your business. Have copies of it with your contact info so you can give it to each person who is interested in purchasing Avon with you.

 

TIP: You can purchase this collection at a 40% discount in your first order! Place the collection in a basket or cute container so you can bring it with you while making deliveries so you can demonstrate to people what they will receive for only $19.99. People tend to make the decision to make the purchase when they see it right in front of them. 

 

USING YOUR STARTER KIT TIP #6: USING RECRUITING BOOKLETS

If you are looking to grow a business that will provide a residual income, Avon’s Advanced Leadership is the way to go. As a leadership representative, you will share the Avon opportunity & mentor those who join your team as they build their own Avon business. Currently, Avon is offering an amazing incentive called the Rapid Advancement. Any representative who joins Avon between Campaign 5’2018 to Campaign 13’2018 (January 24, 2018 to June 1, 2018) & advances in leadership title in the designated time frame, he/she can earn double the Advanced Leadership Promotion Bonus.

Here are some ways you can use the Recruiting Booklets you receive in your kit to start Avon’s Advanced Leadership:

  • Keep Them on You so you are ready to go if someone is interested in joining Avon. These booklets are a great way to introduce someone with the Avon opportunity.
  • Pin on a Bulletin Board with your reference code on the back at your local store, church or organization. Whoever picks one up, he/she will have all the basic information they will need to learn about the Avon opportunity & how to join your team. Make sure to also put your phone number & email address so if they have any questions or concerns they can contact you.
  • Include it in Brochures to share about the Avon opportunity. I would recommend since you do only receive 5 in your kit, to add them to the people you know who could earn more money whether it’s to save up money for a vacation or someone who is tired of living paycheck to paycheck. We all know at least 5 people who could use the extra income they can earn with the Avon opportunity.
