The 4th of July isn`t too far away. Do you have any plans?  Last year we had a family Barbecue at our house. This year though we`re not too sure what we`re doing. Of course here in New Orleans we have tons of 4th of July events going on that`s all family friendly! Well at least the ones on this list are family friendly!

America Rocks! (6/28) :: Kickoff the 4th of July week at the Louisiana Children’s Museum while meeting Uncle Sam, enjoying live music and many red, white and blue kid friendly activities!

Uncle Sam Jam (7/3) :: This has been a popular event in Jefferson Parish for quite a few years. A family friendly event at Lafreniere Park with live music, food vendors and fireworks. Don’t forget to bring your blankets and chairs!

Happy 3rd of July (7/3) :: My family and I went to this event last year and we had a fantastic time. This event takes place at City Park on the Great Lawn, and the fireworks display is by the Peristyle. You are more than welcome to bring your own concessions, but there is beer, wine and snoballs for sale. The Marine Corps Band is playing and what is more patriotic than that? Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue!

Sparks in the Park (7/3) :: First annual Sparks in the Park event in Covington. This free event will have patriotic music, face painting for the kids, concessions and of course, fireworks! You are welcome to pack your own picnic and the fireworks are scheduled for 8:45pm.

St. Charles Parish Independence Day Celebration (7/3) :: From 6:00-9:00pm enjoy family friendly fun, food, mini golf, snowballs and fireworks at the West Bank Bridge Park in Luling!

Madisonville Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration (7/4) :: This event looks like a fun filled day and is a must do for my family in the future. Besides the mandatory fireworks and live music, they also offer apple pie contests,  a parade, a pageant and numerous Veteran events. This is a free event and no food will be for sale; instead bring your own cooler, picnic basket or even your grill!
