I've been seeing Blue Dot Donuts and that they offer a variety of unique donuts - how awesome?! I was thrilled to check them out as I'm a HUGE donut fan. I was looking forward to trying out something new to a product I love. Of course my excitment was quickly shattered.
Blue Dot is a small hole in the wall place who offers a variety of unique flavored donuts, including a maple and bacon donut. Unlike every other donut place I've been to, Blue Dot runs out of donuts HOURS before they are due to close. This has happened multiple times upon going to their store and I'm at the point of giving up. All donut shops I know have donuts on the shelves the WHOLE time they are open, but not Blue Dot. While I do understand that they have unique donuts that are popular, why have store hours if you have nothing after your batch has been bought up? Basically once the batch is gone, that's it, no more donuts. If you have such a high business that's in demand, why would you quit after one batch? Keep the shelves stocked!
On my particular visit there were literally just a couple of options on ONE small shelf (within the case) to choose from. The employee working seemed to careless about her job nor was anything suggested to try in replacement of the donut I requested, which they had sold out of. For a popular place that's supposed to have delicious donuts I was quickly disappointed to have nothing to try. I could have gotten the regular old donut holes, but I could have went to my regular donut shop for that! Would I recommend Blue Dot? No way. What kind of donut place has empty shelves on a regular basis hours before closing? I can't even tell you if their donuts are good or not since none are ever on the shelf past the first hour or two of them opening!
