(completed in October 2013) One of the things I wanted to do was add a door way into my closet (one of the spare bedrooms turned into a closet). You see, our small master bath has no storage space really to neatly organize towels, shampoos, etc. I like keeping my PJs in the bathroom for a quick and easy change at night. All this was an issue. Well we`re still not 100% complete, but the majority of the work is done.
We started by tearing out the sheetrock in the wall behind out bathroom door which actually goes into the actual closet of the room (which leads to my "closet"). The plan is to the use the actual closet for our bathroom storage. As of right now we just made the door way, but have not completed the clean up or adding in shelves. Literally, the adding the doors part was just completed last night. So just hang tight!
Anyway, one the sheetrock was removed, we added a track on the inside of the closet and added a large sliding mirror door. On the bathroom side of the entry way we added a large mirror which we added to hinges so that it can open. Be sure that it`s large enough to cover the hole in the wall. So on both sides it appears like a "secret doorway".
Pretty neat huh? Since we`re small we just kept the doorway the length of the studs already in place so that took out a lot of work and was cost effective. Now all that`s left to do is cut our wood into shelving to place on both sides of the closet space itself. Now I can get to the other room without having to go around and we will soon be able to keep our own bathroom items in our bathroom without always having to store things in Sophia`s bathroom! Now that`s how you work a small space! If you have any ideas or suggestions you would like to share, please feel free to do so! I`m always open to them!
