(From September 2012) So it`s either the HGTV or the Pinterest that`s getting to me today, but I did a few crafts so look forward to a few posts! My first one will only cost $6 at Dollar Tree + the cost of E600 glue if you don`t already have some. First of all I went on a crazy shopping spree at Dollar Tree. I literally spent like $33 in there, which is more than I would normally spend there at a time. Ever! I picked up 3 different sized glass bowls. Starting from tiny to normal to a bit larger. I then bought 3 glass candle holders. Those are all the same size.
When I got home I put out some newspaper on my table as to not take a chance at messing up our new table. Yes, I said new. We got that as one of our wedding gifts. I actually picked up 3 cream colored cloth placemats while at the dollar tree. It looks great! Anyway, getting back on track to get started take your first candle holder and apply glue to the top (the part where you would normally put the candles, just put it around that rim) and apply the largest bowl. Some people might actually prefer to not have the candle holder on the very bottom but have the bowl first. That design would look great as well, just use your best judgement depending on the space you`re working with.
After setting the large glass bowl wait a few seconds for the glue to get some hold. Luckily you don`t need to wait too long because these do balance on top of each other rather well so just make sure you`re working in a stable area where it won`t get disturbed during the glue drying process. So now you have a candle holder + a bowl. Add glue to the bottom portion of the bowl and apply the next candle holder. It`s the same process. Just continue on until you`ve finished. Once your tiered bowl holder is dry you can place it where you intend to use it. I went back and forth on where to place mine in my bathroom. I knew for sure on the sink, but I was debating sides. The side towards the wall works best, but has that small indention into the counter for your soap holder.
Well in the end I ended up putting it on that side because the opposite side just wasn`t flowing right as I was looking through my photos to be quite honest. So hopefully it holds up. Pretty simple, cheap and fun. Plus it looks all fancy!
