spelling   This week we will be focusing on spelling words. Sophia is rather good at reading, but I’m going to start the spelling process with her. She knows quite a few words so this list may be easy, but it’s a good place to start in my opinion. I compiled some worksheets that use the words on our list to help her with learning, writing, etc. I want her to also improve her handwriting while learning the words; so while some of these sheets are geared more towards Pre-K and Kindergarten, they do serve a purpose – I promise! Here’s what words we’re working with this week: (you can also print this list here)
  1. the
  2. of
  3. and
  4. that
  5. cat
  6. mat
  7. sat
  8. hat
word family at   Here are my worksheets I compiled to go along with this spelling lesson from an assortment of online resources:   A super cute craft idea that I love for the 8 spelling words of the week would be to make a “word spider”. Basically just cut out a circle as the body, then cut out 4 straight pieces to make legs (you would cut the long straight pieces then cut in half for a total of 8 legs).   spider
