With Thanksgiving quickly approaching followed by Christmas, if you’re anything like me, you’re enjoying a whirlwind of food. It’s delicious, but probably not so healthy. So what are some ways you can stay heart-healthy and mentally sane?
Follow a few of my own holiday tips:
Store Away the Junk
While this isn’t your traditional “exercise and eat right” tip, this particular piece of advice is to keep you mentally sane – and keep your stress levels low. Pack up all of last season’s stuff and store it away. You can store it in your garage, shed, or even a warehouse if you have your own business (such as
https://calhounsuperstructure.com/industries/storage-warehousing/) By keeping the excess stuff out, you’re freeing up space in your home or business. Having a cleaned and clutter-free space has proven to make you feel happier and less stressed.
Shop Early
Shopping during the holidays can be an absolute mess! Whether you go out in public or stay in the comfort of your own home shopping behind the screen. Shop ahead to give you plenty of time to buy the gifts you need without the stress of last-minute shopping. Also, shopping ahead of time allows you to spend a little bit of money at a time, say buy one gift here and there, rather than having to dish out a lump sum of cash for your gifts because you waited too long. Plus, but starting out early, if you do happen to need a last-minute gift, it won’t be as stressful as shopping for your whole list at once!
Go Out for Regular Walks
I know, this may sound crazy with it being cold, but walking and getting fresh air does your body good! If it is too cold where you live, maybe walk a few laps around your local indoor mall. Plus, if you walk at a brisk pace it is known to help with your heart health! No, really! Have you ever seen what your heart looks like? Check out this cool 3D replica –

Get Your Dental Appointment In
I know, another odd suggestion, but let’s face it, when our teeth our clean and pretty, we feel better about ourselves. Getting your dental checkup (if you’re due for one) is perfect to do now. Many people plan this around the back to school season, but by planning your trip to the dentist now, you can most likely avoid a long wait time to get in and get any dental work needed finally done!
Dental Veneers Houston is a great option to consider!
Spend Time with Those You Love
My final tip is to spend time with those you enjoy being around. Rather than simply saying “family”, I am saying to spend time with those you love. Spend time with people who bring joy to you. For some that would be their family. For others that could be friends. Maybe it’s a mix of both. Don’t spend your time with someone who makes you uncomfortable and miserable. Being with those you love will truly make the holidays a lot more enjoyable and less stressful.
