Target & Dollar Tree Shopping Trip 11/20 ~ Saved 60%!

I don`t shop at Target too often simply because it`s not right down the street from me like Walmart and all my other shopping locations. So of course I`m not quite as familiar with how well they work with coupons and their cartwheel/mobile coupon things work. Between Dollar Tree and Target my original cost for everything you see would have been about $63.31 +tax. I paid $25.57 +tax.

It would have been an even better sale but the neosporine I purchased wasn`t $2.49 as the sign said (I didn`t notice until I got all the way home and not worth the gas for me to go back and return) - It rang up at $4.49. I had a coupon for $2.00 so I was expecting it to only be $0.49. Also I picked up a kids spin brush toothbrush for $4.99 because I saw the big $5 mail in rebate coupon attached to it. I should have read the whole thing because that $5 back is on 2 spin brushes AND a movie purchase! If my Target was right down the street I`d have brought both items back, but it`s about 15-20 minutes away, which isn`t too bad, but considering the gas and all that it`s just not worth the drive. Now Dollar Tree.... I must admit, I HATE couponing at Dollar Tree. I love that they accept coupons but half the time around here I notice the employees are not trained into knowing how to use the coupons, which is of course Dollar Trees fault. Also, their cash systems are so out of date that they can`t even scan in the coupon or even press a "coupon" button and enter the amount. They have to hit several buttons THEN enter the coupon amount AFTER fully reading the coupon and making sure it matches the products. According to their policy you can use 4 like coupons per person per transaction per day.

On this trip the manager actually tried to tell me I could only use 2. When I brought up their coupon policy though she was quick to pull out the phone and ask corporate where of course I got the approval. The cashier on the other hand was friendly and was in full agreement with me on Dollar Tree and was explaining how they`re so strict with things there it`s ridiculous. Enough ranting. Here`s my transactions. I`ll be honest, the Target reciept confuses the heck out of me. Some items it shows the coupons and discounts taken off right away and others show coupons and discounts taken off at the end. So I`ll just mimic the receipt the best I can to explain my matchups. Please remember that I do not know the dates my coupons from my newspaper inserts came from since I clip my coupons ahead of time for trips. Just do a quick google search though and you`ll be able to find that coupon location pretty quickly!
