An electric pulse massager sends electric pulses that stimulate muscles, giving them a safe and effective workout. The electric pulse massager mimics the brain by sending an electrical signal to your muscles telling them to contract and then relax. The body responds to this exercise by sending more blood and oxygen to the muscles. These units have been used for decades in hospitals, in physical therapy clinics, and in health spas. The primary medical use for electric pulse massage is to help patients recover from injuries or medical conditions that resulted in impaired muscle function.
Small, portable electric pulse massager (sometimes called electrical muscle stimulation, or EMS) units are now available to the public. Using such as units produces a mild tingling sensation across the muscles being stimulated. The unit allows you to control the strength and duration of the stimulation so you can adjust it for your own comfort. If you have tense muscles or knots in your muscles the electric pulse massager can be quite effective at providing relief. Just like a good physical massage, you can experience relief of muscle pain and a feeling of relaxation after the treatment cycle. Many people use these units on their neck, shoulders, back, and joints for quick, relaxing relief. These electric pulse massager units differ from TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) units which are used to block pain along a neural pathway. The TENS units typically send a high-frequency signal continuously along the nerve, thereby blocking the transmission of pain to the brain. Of course, some units can function in either a TENS mode or a massage mode. So, check the features on any device you wish to order.
The average person does not require the assistance of a doctor or other technical person. There are no wrong areas for its use. Some people should, however, consult with their health care professional before using such units. Examples of such people include pregnant women, people with heart disease or electronic pacemakers, people with epilepsy or those who are prone to seizures. If you suffer from tense muscle or other muscular pain, an electric pulse massage could be a quick and inexpensive way to reduce or eliminate your pain.
I've always had shoulder pains since being in a car accident (hit from behind at a red light). I went to a chiropractor years ago and even got a muscle simulator from them. It was over $100, but boy did it feel good! Over the years I have no idea what happened to that thing. Seriously, it grew legs and walked away. So I decided to give the Easy@Home TENS Handheld Electronic Pulse Massager Unit
a try. I was nervous because I used a cheap simulator before and it wasn't relaxing it all - it had been a painful experience and actually messed up my husband's leg muscle! So we took it slow with this unit. It has six pre-set modes that you can choose from for the style of simulation you like such as massage, pulse, or knead. You can also select the location for a pre-set mode for your shoulders, waist, etc. Of course, you can manually set your preference as well. The programs are automatically timed to end after 15 minutes. I love that this has a lot of options - something my old $100 from the chiropractor didn't have!
This unit is lightweight and only uses 4 AAA batteries. It has 2 plug outlets for a total of 4 "patches" as I call them (the parts that attach to your body for you to feel the simulation). Each plug you control 2 pads at a time. So you can have 4 on your body, or do like my husband and I do and share since each plug has its own control option. While this unit is cheap in price, it's not like the cheap piece of junk I had before. It works as a REAL electronic massager should - without pain. It helps relieve the pain. Of course, you should start off on a low setting and slowly raise it to adjust to your needs. No need to go spend hundreds of dollars, this unit works great at a fraction of the cost! Highly recommend it - and I use it for my neck, shoulder, upper and lower back!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
