No one enjoys coughing. It's pretty much right up there with inconvenient things like sneezing at the movies, tearing up from spicy foods at a work lunch, or spilling wine on your white rug.
Justifiably not a good time. So how to conquer this when it strikes uncontrollably during allergy season? Yummy, homemade throat drops! With just a few all natural ingredients, you're on your way to cough-free happiness.
Today our recipe brings together notable ingredients like lemons, ginger root, and honey in a candied form (though, no candy here). We used lemon for its uplifting scent, ginger has long been known for its goodness, and honey is the perfect soothing addition to a sugary taste!
So, let's clear our throats, take a sigh of relief that help is on its way, and begin making these drops.
First get your necessities together. Those would be:
+ 3 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon, Squeezed.
+ 2 Teaspoons Ginger Root, Cut Up
+ 1/2 Cup 100% Wildflower Raw Honey
+ 1/4 Erythritol Powder (for parchment paper)
+ Parchment Paper / Baker's Tray
Step 1: In a pot, over low heat, add in the honey, lemon, and ginger.
Step 2: Continuously stir the mix with a whisk, until it starts to foam. Remove from heat. Once foaming slows, place back over heat and keep stirring. (Mix should reach 300 degrees on a candy thermometer)
Step 3: Once this is done, let it cool off.
Step 4: On a prepared parchment paper tray (lined with powdered sugar), place about 1/2 inch drops of the melted mix.
Step 5: Let cool off naturally in a dark area. Then store however you please!
