It’s time to kick toxic household cleaners to the curb!
Did you know you can use
essential oils to create your own all-natural multi-purpose house cleaner? Many brand-name cleaners contain ingredients that can be harmful to your family and pets, so why keep them in the house?
Inspired by the story of the Four Thieves Vinegar, we’ve put together this blend of essential oils that can work together to help keep your house clean and smelling fresh! Never heard of Four Thieves Vinegar? While the story may change, the basic principle remains the same: during the time of the plague, when it was common practice to loot the graves and homes of those who were indisposed or had died, they would rub the oils of these popular herbs and spices on themselves when carrying out their dirty deeds.**
Try out this simple blend of essential oils for yourself and soon discover why it’s better to be chemical-free!
Ingredients
10 ounces distilled water or vinegar (your preference)
Steps
1. Combine the mixture in a large spray bottle—you’re going to want to make more to keep under the sink where the bleach and ammonia used to sit, so the bigger the better!
2. Use on floors, countertops, tubs, and showers… whatever needs a good scrubbing!
The best part of this recipe?
You can customize it to fit your aromatic taste! Play around with the drops, maybe add a scent you enjoy, but be sure to keep in mind the importance of evening out your essential oil to carrier (i.e. distilled water or vinegar) ratio! Typically, we recommend our oils to mixed at 10 drops per 1 ounce of carrier. It’s that simple, so don’t be afraid to experiment and truly make this your own!
