I absolutely
LOVE subscription boxes. I love the element of surprise. When I was given the chance to see what
GeekFuel was all about - how could I say now?!
Geek Fuel is a geek subscription box that sends Steam video games, toys, collectibles and other exclusive geeky gear. The Cost: just $23.90 a month and you get at least $50 worth of stuff! Plus, it's available to ship to the US, UK, and Canada! So if I have anyone outside the US that follows me, here's your chance to score something awesome! While Geek Fuel doesn’t have themes, you’ll know 2-3 franchises in each month since they will notify you of it before it ships. Not to mention, each month includes a card that details each item in your box.
Oh yea,
AND they have monthly member-only contests to win prizes worth thousands of dollars including bundles from PS4 and Xbox One!
This was my first time ever trying GeekFuel so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I got this box to hand over to my husband since he's a fan of Star Wars and super heroes and things of that nature. Well, he wasn't disappointed! The January 2017 box brought items from DC, Star Wars and more.
In this particular box, they included a very appropriate homage to the late Carrie Fisher. They even threw in a little bonus Princess Leia pin; which is classy looking in appearance since it is in black and white. They also included a K-2SO Rogue One Shirt. When you join, you select your T-shirt size since they send an exclusive shirt with every box. It's really unique and has a lot of detail.
The other items in this box are:
►Epic Enamels Pin He-Bot Edition
When Robots roll into battle for control of the universe, there can be only one winner. Fortunately for He-Bot, it's usually him. Not to be left in the shadows, Skele-Fuel will make rare appearances in his limited edition run. This little robot is Geek Fuel’s mascot, and it makes an appearance as a different classic character each month.
► Ninja Pizza Girl Downloadable Steam Game
It's tough to find ways to take on important topics, but Ninja Pizza Girl does just that, stealthily delivering her goods while battling bullies and doing her part to keep a small family business alive. This is a fun side scrolling game where you attempt to deliver pizza at fast speeds.
► QFig Collectible Figurine: The Flash
With Geek Fuel's first feature with Quantum Mechanics, we're happy to see variety alongside killer value. Fine one of four in your box and add it to your collector shelf, or head over to Facebook and get to trading! This is super adorable! Not to mention it's high quality. It's much nicer than I honestly was expecting! Subscribers could also receive Harley Quinn, Green Arrow or Mr. Freeze. The word balloon it comes with is actually a white board so you can change what it says. I left mine as is, though, since I liked it like that.
► Rupee Soap
Does your hero smell like they've been sword-slinging all over the land of Hyrule? Get them cleaned up with these exclusive Rupee Soaps. Each one has its own distinct scent, perfect for washing away every battle stench! Geek Fuel definitely did well packaging this one! This chest opens up to reveal a card and the soap as your treasure. These are three individual bars of soap that are shaped to currency of Hyrul. I love that each is individually wrapped, but I love even more how absolutely amazing these smell!
This may have been my first box, but hopefully it won't be my last. While it was mainly for my husband, I also enjoyed it. I found everything to be high quality and my husband turned into a 10 year old little boy - especially over the soaps. In fact, he won't even use them. Instead, they're in our collectible cabinet on display! Maybe next time you guys send out an awesome smelling (but usable) product, maybe you can send two?!? *sighs*
The point is, this was a fun box that all enjoyed. It is definitely one that both my husband and I can agree that we recommend!
** Geek Fuel typically ships between the 15th and 20th of each month - if you joined after that, they ship to new members within a week.
