GIVEAWAY: PrepareWise ~ Perfect Emergency Food Solution #Review

As most of y’all know, I live in Southern Louisiana. That means we get hurricanes and a lot of unpredictable weather. Seriously, just the other day we were outside playing in the sprinkler then the next day it was back to wearing sweaters. Yes, I am referring to this happening this week in the month of March. Well, with predictive weather and hurricanes comes planning for the event of an emergency. Obviously, for something very severe, such as a hurricane, we would evacuate. However, for those days of just “power outage” type weather, we like to stay prepared. We keep flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, etc all on hand. We even have canned goods! One thing we never really planned on was food. Like, meals. Well, that’s where PrepareWise comes in. Yes, the canned goods are great, but I mean one can is generally good for one person. Plus, a lot of cans are heavy and really weigh things down. Before I go on though, what is PrepareWise? They offer gourmet emergency survival foods!

About PrepareWise

If you buy your emergency survival food supply from a website that is not dedicated to high-quality food storage, you expose family members to harmful ingredients and less-than-ideal quality standards. I have to admit, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Cooking the meals were easy. Just mix water to them and cook as directed. I did this and found that while the food wasn’t bad, it was pretty bland. Now listen, before you say you don’t want that, keep in mind this is considered emergency supply type food and I am from the South. We put spice and flavor into everything. I mean, we have a specialty of “shrimp and grits.” With that said, though, the blandness for this sort of food is a good thing. Normally I am opposed to lack of flavor, but hear me out. The thing is, you don’t know what sort of emergency you will be using this for. Who will be around? What type of allergies to they have? What sort of spice can they handle? These are all things that can be important to consider when serving food.

For me, personally, I was able to turn the bland around by adding some flavor. Our favorite spice around here is Tony Chacheres, which is a blend of various spices and goes on anything. While everything was unique in it’s own way, a couple of the items really stood out to me:The potato soup and the pasta primavara. I added some spice to them when they were done to fit my taste buds and they went from bland to delicious! The pancakes, I found did not need anything but some syrup (which I have to have on ANY pancakes). To be truthful, I really likes this brand of pancake mix compared to others I have tried! The chocolate meal replacement shake, well, I made it more like a treat by adding some vanilla extract, ice, almond butter and a pinch of sea salt. Hey, nobody said I couldn’t enjoy it?!

Seriously, though, I found PrepareWise to be a great company to work with. The customer service was super friendly. My food shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. No busted packages. The food also had a good shelf life, fresh quality taste, and overall is perfect for any emergency situation (or because you just like their foods). At the end of the day, I would definitely recommend this company!
